7 of the best baby room thermometers 2024

Nursery thermometers

DO YOU NEED A ROOM THERMOMETER?

It’s recommended that your baby sleeps in a room that is 16 to 20C so a room thermometer can be helpful in ensuring your baby won’t get too hot or too cold.

If you have a baby monitor, some of these have a temperature display.

What to consider when buying a nursery thermometer

  • Is it dual purpose? Many double up as night lights or bath thermometers.

  • How is it powered? They tend to be either battery-powered or USB-charged.

  • Is it backlit? You might want to view the temperature in the dark, in which case make sure the display is backlit.

  • Does it have auto shut off? This conserves battery life but is not great if you just want to pop your head through the door to check the temperature at night.

  • Does it also measure humidity? The humidity of a baby’s room should be between 30% and 60% and ideally between 40-50%.
